Creatv MicroTech is a privately-held company, founded by Dr. Cha-Mei Tang, which specializes in microfabrication and biodetection. The company’s business is based on cutting-edge research and development – leveraging our expertise in the sciences and engineering related to high-aspect-ratio microfabrication and ultra-sensitive biodetection. Creatv’s fabrication of micro-metal and composite microstructures is unmatched by anyone in the world. Creatv’s microfabricated CellSieveTM microfilters are ideally suited for liquid cell biopsy for cancer diagnostics.
Cha-Mei Tang, Sc.D. – Founder, President, and CEO
Dr. Tang has led the research and commercial efforts at Creatv MicroTech since founding the company. She received her B.S., M.S. (EE) and Sc.D. from the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA. Dr. Tang worked at the Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) for 18 years – eight of which were in the capacity of Section Head. Her areas of research included free electron lasers, accelerators, cold field emission cathodes and x-ray generation and applications. At Creatv MicroTech, she leads the research, development, and commercialization of microfabrication and in vitro diagnostics. She is a Fellow of the American Physical Society, and was named the 1992 “Most Outstanding Woman Scientist in the Federal Government” by WISE-Women in Science and Engineering. She has received 15 patents, with 31 patent applications pending. She has also published 179 reviewed journal publications and book chapters.
Pete Amstutz – Chief Financial Officer and Director of Business Development
Mr. Amstutz joined the company in 2001. During a 35-year career, he has worked on Wall Street, in both domestic and overseas banking, and in corporate finance for two multinational companies, including senior positions with both NCR Corporation and Whirlpool Corporation. Amstutz received a B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.S. from the Sloan School (MIT), with a concentration in Finance. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
